Hemp Licenses Will Be Free in Costa Rica

Costa Rica will make its hemp licenses free for businesses and individuals interested in importing and/or exporting hemp derivatives as health, food, and industrial products.

This move is an attempt to attract more businesses to the country and to stimulate its economy. Hemp is a crop that has a wide range of uses, including in textiles, food, construction materials, and biofuels. Costa Rica is hoping that by making the licenses free, it will be able to attract more businesses to the country and stimulate its economy.

The regulations are applicable to individuals or legal entities that are interested in importing, planting, cultivating, harvesting, post-harvesting, storing, transporting, processing, manufacturing, marketing, importing and exporting hemp derivatives as health, food, and industrial products.

The licenses will be granted for six years and can be renewed for another six years. Licensees will be allowed to acquire seeds, seedlings, cuttings, or any other hemp propagation material, the report says, along with the planting, development, harvest, import, transport, and marketing of hemp plants as raw material for processing.
