The California State Fair, set for July 11-27, 2025, is once again making history by fully embracing the state’s thriving cannabis industry. This year’s event will feature on-site sales and consumption, an expanded awards program, and an immersive educational exhibit highlighting the best in California’s cannabis market.
A Growing Celebration of California’s Best
For over 170 years, the California State Fair has showcased the state’s agricultural excellence, and in recent years, cannabis has become a key part of that tradition. The return of the California Cannabis Awards will spotlight top producers and product manufacturers, with new award categories for blunts, hash, and cannabis-infused chocolates to reflect the industry’s evolving landscape.
“Since welcoming cannabis to the Fair, we’ve witnessed firsthand the pride and dedication of California’s cultivators, who are crafting some of the best products, not just in the state, but in the entire industry,” said Tom Martinez, CEO of the California State Fair.
On-Site Sales & Consumption Return
Fairgoers aged 21 and older will have the unique opportunity to purchase and consume cannabis products on-site throughout the event. The Fair has once again partnered with California-based cannabis brand Embarc to provide integrated sales, following last year’s successful introduction of on-site cannabis retail.
“Last year, we made history by integrating cannabis sales and consumption into the State Fair, and we are thrilled to return in 2025,” said Embarc co-founder Lauren Carpenter. “Through an immersive educational experience, we’re shining a light on the cannabis brands reflecting and shaping cannabis culture in California and beyond.”
Submissions Open for the 2025 Cannabis Awards
Submissions for the California Cannabis Awards opened on March 1, offering cultivators and manufacturers the chance to have their products recognized among the best in the state.
With expanded categories, on-site sales, and immersive education, the 2025 California State Fair is set to be a groundbreaking event for cannabis enthusiasts and industry leaders alike.
