Florida Poll Majority Backs Cannabis Legalization Constitutional Amendment

Florida Poll: Majority Backs Cannabis Legalization Constitutional Amendment

A recent poll conducted by Florida Politics indicates strong support among Florida voters for a constitutional amendment to legalize adult-use cannabis, with 64% in favor. In Florida, constitutional amendments require a 60% majority to pass into law.

The poll highlighted overwhelming support across age demographics, with 100% of respondents aged 18-29 and 82% of voters aged 30-39 backing the legalization reforms.

Following the poll’s release, Morgan Hill, spokesperson for Smart & Safe Florida, emphasized public demand for cannabis legalization: “Floridians want and deserve the same right to consume recreational marijuana that more than half the country already enjoys. Legalizing recreational adult-use marijuana promotes health, safety, and individual freedom.”

Smart & Safe Florida also announced a new advertising campaign in support of Amendment 3, titled “Freedom Month.” The $1.1 million radio ad campaign features attorney John Morgan, known for leading the successful 2016 campaign to legalize medical cannabis in Florida.

Despite opposition from Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, whose political action committee has raised minimal funds opposing the initiative, public sentiment remains strong. A FOX News poll published recently showed even higher support, with 66% of respondents favoring the reforms.
