Clinton County Community College and Green Flower Partner to Offer Cannabis Certificate Courses

Clinton County Community College (CCC) in Plattsburgh, New York has joined forces with cannabis education company Green Flower to provide three new certificate courses focused on the cannabis industry. The programs cover cannabis manufacturing, cultivation, and retail and are designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in these sectors.

The certificate courses, namely the advanced manufacturing agent certificate, advanced dispensary associate certificate, and advanced cultivation technician certificate, are offered entirely online and span eight weeks each. With a cost of $900, these programs offer an affordable opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the cannabis field.

Angela Kelley, the community and workforce specialist at CCC, expressed the belief that the cultivation course may attract backyard growers who seek not only successful yields but also knowledge on proper cultivation techniques to ensure product safety and avoid cross-contamination.

Daniel Kalef, Vice President of Higher Education at Green Flower, highlighted the significance of CCC’s commitment to providing students with certification pathways for cannabis retail, manufacturing, and agriculture. He emphasized that a well-trained workforce is crucial for the continued growth of the cannabis industry in New York.

Green Flower’s collaboration with CCC is part of its expanding network of partnerships with colleges and universities across the United States. Presently, the company has affiliations with 20 institutions of higher education.

As the cannabis industry continues to evolve, the availability of educational programs like these certificate courses plays a vital role in preparing individuals for various roles within the sector. CCC and Green Flower’s partnership aims to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the cannabis manufacturing, cultivation, and retail fields while fostering industry growth in New York.
