Ted Dobson has been growing vegetables and unique salad mixes organically for the past 35 years. His products have graced the menus of hundreds of the best restaurants in Berkshire County and as far as Boston and New York City. His 15 acre farm, Equinox, is located in Sheffield, MA, where Ted is currently paving the way for Farmers to get involved with growing hemp and cannabis. He has been working closely with state representatives and members of the senate to make the necessary legislative changes to achieve this. He is the first farmer to work with his town to create an overlay district to potentially farm recreational cannabis and CBD hemp outdoors on his farm. Over the past few decades he has bred Northern Californian OG varieties with well established New England sativas to come up with both unique resistances to mold and mildew, and varieties that reflect the “terroir” of Southern Berkshire County. Ted plans to continue to develop cannabis genetics to addresses the specific needs of the regional community, especially in regards to the new and exciting discoveries of myriad cannabinoid combinations.
