Plants Eradicated by CAMP

During 2022 Season 1M Plants Eradicated by CAMP Program in California

The California Department of Justice has released their annual report on the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP), which occurred between September and December of 2022. The report states that nearly 1 million illegally grown plants were eradicated and more than 200,000 pounds of processed cannabis were seized. This represents a significant increase in both numbers from the previous year.

The CAMP campaign is aimed at stopping illegal cannabis production in the state, which has been on the rise in recent years. In addition to the increased number of plants seized, the report also highlights the increased use of harmful pesticides and other chemicals in illegal grow operations. These chemicals can be dangerous to both people and the environment, and it is hoped that the CAMP campaign will help to reduce their use.

The program has been operational since 1983, and in 2022, CAMP teams conducted 449 operations in 26 counties throughout the state. These operations resulted in the recovery of 184 weapons and the removal of nearly 67,000 pounds of cultivation infrastructure.
